How
much do you know about our ancestors?
Play
the My Family (Who am I?) game to find out!
The object of this game is to
match up ancestor couples and learn more about them in the process
To play, you’ll need:
·
Your family
(or you can play alone)
·
The 62 ancestor
cards
·
A table or
other surface large enough for all of the cards
·
Access to a
computer (optional)
Set up:
·
(Optional) Separate the men (blue) cards from
the women (female cards)
·
Mix up the
cards and lay them all face down in rows.
o (Keep the
men and women separate, if desired)
·
Decide who
goes first – typically the youngest player
How to play:
·
The first
player chooses two cards and carefully turns it over.
o (If you
separated the men from the women, choose one card from each)
·
Check the
cards to see if they were married to each other
o If they are not a match, turn them back over and
it is the next player’s turn
o If they were married, it is a match! The player
removes the cards from the play area and places them in front of them in a
pile.
·
When a
player finds a match, visit the website to find out more information about
those ancestors
·
A player’s
turn is not over until they are not able to find a match.
·
The play
continues until all the matches are found.
·
The winner
is the player who has the most matches, but we all win by learning more about
where we came from!
